Nutrition Services

Providing meals that support learning and health

Along with our service partner Sodexo, we understand that the most effective education environments nourish the body and the mind. Academic success relies on meals that are fresh, nutritious, tasty and customized to the diverse needs and desires of the student body. Our goal is to provide meals that keep students healthy, focused and energetic.

Update: All student meals are free of charge at all schools during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 school years.

USDA Child Nutrition Program Income Guidelines

Note: Families who qualified for free or reduced-price meals during the school year remain qualified for those benefits during the first 30 school days of the following school year. Schools have 10 business days to process an application from the time it is received. Families whose applications have not been approved for the current school year by the deadline will revert to full paid meals status and will be responsible to pay for all meals their students consume from that day until another application is approved.

School-Wide Free Meal Program

The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is a nationally-funded free meal service for schools in low-income areas. CEP allows Kennewick's highest poverty schools to serve breakfast and lunch at no cost to all enrolled students without having to apply for free or reduced-price meals.
